The award reflects the force of eliza wyatt's powerful writing about the occupation of Palestine and its daily brutality. Her drama Flowers of Red uses a subtly-drawn contrast of the characters and their situations, with exceptionally gifted and inwardly-revealing rhetoric-free dialogue, to make a superb play that is also a shocking political statement. John Park, Editor, Fringe Report

FLOWERS OF RED, Edinburgh Theatre Festival. ***** A rare gem - go see it. Flowers of Red has a lightness of touch that belies a penetrating study of the life of a Palestinian woman and her volunteer human shield in Gaza. I loved the simplicity of this piece, well crafted dialogue that contains the real humour in situations of war and conflict that, to those living within, can seem hopeless. Paul Levy, author playwright

*****Humour, riviting performances, never preachy, well told. I didn't expect the wonderful thought provoking humour. This well told story does follow a straightforward linear structure but two days later and I'm still thinking about it! Peppered sparingly with amusing observations about cultural differences, it's a gripping piece of theatre with excellent performances from the cast. Jonathan Saunders, Scotland

"When is this play going to Broadway?` GODS & GODDESSES, at West End Theatre, Gloucester, Mass. 2004" Mini Benn, Boston

Paul Dale, The Edinburgh LIST

Techno-Frantic-Love **** The List, Edinburgh Fringe Theatre Festival, 2000. This smart two-hander crackles with hormonal wit and blank-eyed generation apathy (as opposed to terrorism). Always engaging despite its minimal set, Theatre Duplicity has pulled off quite a coup. With Eliza Wyatt's right script, solid direction from Decima Francis and superb performances from Lisa Barry and Richard Beaufort, this is certainly worth a venture. Paul Dale, The LIST

"The laughter was infectious` of CHRONIC COMEPTITION at Boston Center for the Arts, 2000." South End News

"In Bunny, Eliza Wyatt creates an amusing monologue of a character living in a fantasy world - or is it real? BUNNY, at The New Venture Theatre." Barrie Jerram, The Argus

"Intriuging and provoking...a very interesting concept...evocative and meaningful. of ANGELA HITLER at the Nightingale Theatre, Brighton Festival." Jeff Thompson, BBC

"funny and well-aimed...a Feiferesque resonance, a sense of pain.\' of HAVING A LIFE, at the Alley Theatre, Cambridge, Mass." Carolyn Clay, Boston Pheonix

"I have admired Eliza`s work for many years. I have found it both funny and moving in a unique way." Paul Chi
